I have severely neglected my wordpress blog. Sorry about that. But I now hereby promise to at least post something once a month. Just because I love WordPress as a blogging platform. Anyhoo, here the dish on the recent WordCamp Philippines. With some photos to boot.
WordCamp is a one-day affair for WordPress users, bloggers and developers. Mindanao Bloggers organized the event and it was graced by WordPress creator, Matt Mullenweg.
It was held at College of St. Benilde in Taft on September 06, 2008. The sessions that Joyce and I attended were pretty interesting and I got a lot from it. The latter sessions though were too techinical for us. Something like Google Analytics and Web Standards. Nosebleed.
They gave out domains with the first year free. Boo hoo I didn’t get any. Haha. Sabagay, di ko din naman alam anong gagawin ko kung may sariling domain na ko. Though, I do plan to have one someday.
(I actually left the laptop to go find my WordCamp souveneir stuff because I just realized that I didn’t know where it was. Found it after 30 mins.)

Danilo Arao (UPD Journ Prof) on Blogging and Journalism. This was my favorite session of the entire day. It had everything: critique, controversy, and ethics. Coolness.
One of the best parts was when asked who he would vote for in the November US Elections, his answer was:
“I’m for change. I’m voting for Obama.” (Not verbatim but something to this effect)
Woot, woot.
