Just like race and culture define our experiences, gender plays a huge part in shaping our lives and who we are as people. Women, from past to present, have fought many battles to gain us the rights that we now enjoy.
The blog is named “I am no man” because Eowyn, a character in the epic trilogy Lord of the Rings who said that line, is one of the literary figures that have influenced my perception and appreciation of myself as a woman and of women in general. Her strength, grace, beauty, and resilience is something to be emulated.
This blog tells of my stories as a daughter, a sister, a friend, an employee, a trying-to-be-writer – but most of all, a woman. God has a purpose why He made me a woman and that I shall be.
ARAGORN: What do you fear, lady?
EOWYN: A cage. To stay behind bars, until use and old age accept them, and all chance of doing great deeds is gone beyond recalls or desire.
